    challenges, today all the around the world are working to accelerate their vaccination
    programs to bring a sense of normalcy and overcome the health emergency, still
    persistent in some countries.

    After 18 months preventive protocols to contain the Covid 19 outbreak, Ecuador has
    become an example to other nations for its strategies to revive its economy and
    inoculate the population. According to the most recent statistics of the organization Our
    World in Data, the Vaccination Plan 9/100, promoted by President Guillermo Lasso, has
    made of Ecuador to be one of the countries that has administered the most doses per
    100 people in the last 7 days in the world, over countries such as Italy, Germany, and
    China.

    This extraordinary result is due to the hard work carried out by national and local
    authorities.

    In the case of Quito, the city has made it a priority to create a safe environment to get
    the local economy moving again with strict biosafety protocols that have made
    possible to obtain the Safe Travels Stamp granted by the WTTC in September 2020.
    With the objective of reopening the city of Quito safely to all visitors, the city of the
    Middle of the World, through Quito Tourism, has worked together with the different
    guilds, associations, tourism chambers and the Ministry of Public Health in order to have
    the more than 15 thousand employees and workers in the tourism industry fully
    vaccinated.

    Because of these actions, the capacity allowed for events and conventions was
    increased, strengthening the MICE industry. In the case of events in closed venues, the
    capacity increased to 50% as for events held in open spaces, the capacity can be up
    to 70%.
